Key components and functionality

Predictive search fundamentals

Predictive search delivers instant suggestions and results as customers type in the search bar. These live results promote exploration by surfacing collections, trend-driven content, or frequently searched products before a search term is fully entered. With these settings, you can control headings, featured menus, and display elements, ensuring that high-impact content remains visible to your customers.

Show predictive results

This setting determines whether real-time, predictive results appear in the search bar while users are typing. When enabled, predictive suggestions enhance navigation and allow for quicker discovery of products and content. If disabled, only full search queries will return results.

Default: enabled

Default results

This setting lets you select which navigation menu provides the primary set of default links inside predictive search. Featuring collections or popular groups here helps channel visitors to important content.

  1. Select a menu from your available navigation options.

  2. Default: main-menu

Selecting an appropriate menu can guide users to your most valuable store areas.

Show banner

This setting enables or disables a banner navigation item in the predictive search dropdown. A banner is helpful for spotlighting limited-time campaigns, exclusive launches, or urgent content where customers begin a search.

Default: disabled

Featuring a banner navigation item can draw attention to time-sensitive or promotional messaging.

Usage notes

  1. Updating the default results title regularly helps keep your search overlay timely and relevant, such as aligning it with marketing campaigns or seasonal events.

Enhancing predictive search layouts and content helps every customer quickly find what they need—regardless of which device they are using.
