Dynamic checkout buttons

Dynamic checkout buttons give your customers a quick way to buy the product they’re viewing, skipping the cart and going straight to checkout. These buttons automatically show each customer’s preferred accelerated checkout method, making the purchase process much faster and more seamless.

You’ll see the dynamic checkout button appear next to the Add to cart button on your product pages. Customers can use this button to buy a single product variant at a time. For example, they can purchase two red t-shirts at once, but not a red t-shirt and a blue t-shirt together.

💡 Tip: Our modern themes take full advantage of advanced dynamic checkout features to provide a smoother, faster buying experience. This approach can boost both conversion rates and customer satisfaction.

How dynamic checkout buttons are displayed

Several factors determine which dynamic checkout button appears for your customers:

  1. Your store’s payment settings

  2. Whether Shop Promise is enabled — this gives priority to Shop Pay over other methods

  3. The customer’s browser

  4. The customer’s device

  5. The customer’s previous payment history

Types of dynamic checkout buttons

There are two main types of dynamic checkout buttons:

  1. Unbranded dynamic checkout button

    1. Appears as Buy it now

    2. Takes customers directly to your store’s checkout page

  2. Branded dynamic checkout button

    1. Displays the logo of a third-party accelerated checkout provider

    2. Lets customers pay using their preferred quick-payment method

    3. Supported third-party checkout providers include:

      1. Amazon Pay

      2. Apple Pay

      3. Google Pay

      4. PayPal

      5. Shop Pay

      6. Venmo

Only the payment methods you have enabled in your payment settings will be shown as dynamic checkout options. If you do not have any third-party accelerated checkout methods enabled, customers will only see the unbranded Buy it now button.

📝 Note: You can manage which dynamic checkout buttons display by updating your store’s payment settings. This allows you to provide the best checkout experience for your customers and optimize your sales results.
