Overview

The stock availability block provides real-time inventory status to shoppers on your storefront, creating a sense of urgency and encouraging quicker purchases. By surfacing low stock information, this block also builds trust with customers by ensuring transparency around product availability.

💡 Tip: Displaying timely inventory updates boosts conversion by making customers aware when products are nearly sold out. This can foster quicker decision-making and reduce the risk of out-of-stock disappointments.

The stock availability block can be placed in the following sections:

Key components and functionality

The stock availability block offers flexible options for when and where shoppers see low stock notices. You can adjust which customers receive these alerts to ensure the messaging is effective and visually appropriate.

Low stock notice threshold

This setting controls the minimum quantity that triggers a low stock message for your customers. When your product’s inventory dips to or below this number, an alert appears to let shoppers know that only a few items are left.

Default: 4

You can set the threshold anywhere between 1 and 100. A lower value triggers the warning only when fewer products remain, while a higher threshold creates urgency earlier. The default value of 4 strikes a balance between credibility and urgency.

📝 Note: Customize the threshold to match the normal turnover of your products. Setting the threshold lower conveys exclusivity and avoids unnecessary alarms, while a higher value emphasizes urgency, especially for popular items.

Visibility settings

Visibility settings help you choose whether the stock availability block is visible on desktop, mobile, or both. This lets you tailor your urgency messaging for the most relevant shoppers and maintain a streamlined appearance.

Visibility targeting ensures that low stock notices appear only where they will have the most impact, supporting both effective messaging and a clean layout.

Visibility

Control how and where the stock availability block appears for visitors across different devices.

  1. Do not hide — shows the block on all devices
    Default: do not hide

  2. Hide on desktop — shows the block to mobile shoppers only

  3. Hide on mobile — shows the block to desktop shoppers only

💡 Tip: Use these controls to focus attention where it matters most. For example, consider hiding the alert on mobile to keep small screens uncluttered, or only showing it on desktops where more space is available.

Usage notes

  1. Regularly adjust your low stock threshold according to sales volume and the shopper experience you want to promote.

  2. Make sure your display choices—such as color and legibility—support accessibility for all users, including those using screen readers.

  3. Preview the stock availability block on both desktop and mobile devices to ensure it looks and functions as expected for your audience.

📝 Note: Well-timed and clear stock messaging not only increases shopper confidence, but also removes uncertainty during their purchase journey. Carefully place your block to ensure it supports rather than distracts from the overall shopping experience.
